Thanks to the generosity of The Coca-Cola Company, campers from 16 JCC resident and day camps had the opportunity to participate in the JCC Association/Coca-Cola Day of Caring/Day of Sharing Program and make a difference in their communities. Patterned on the Day of Caring/Day of Sharing projects at the JCC Maccabi Games each August, camps who were awarded Coca-Cola grants spent a day working on a wide variety of service activities that contributed to the welfare of their communities.

This week Teen Camp participated in a program with the seniors from the Kislak Adult Center in Lake Como. The teens joined discussion groups that discussed Israel and its policies. After these discussion the teens participated with the seniors in song, dance and water aerobics! It was a great day for all.

This summer Teen Camp will build on its relationship with the campers and staff of the CountryArk Farm, a summer program that works with emtionally and developmentally challenged children by performing weekly puppet show and skits and organizing and participating in a variety of wonderful activities.

During the first week of July, Teen Camp has been doing special Mitzvah projects for the Day of Caring/Day of Sharing. Teen Camp has begun and will continue to build two homes with the help of Pike County's division of Habitat for Humanity an agency that gives people who are homeless an opportunity to have affordable housing.
